Installation & Maintenance
Installation
Stillwater Ecosystems, LLC provides free on-site consultations. After the consultation, a design and quote will be presented for approval. The installation will be scheduled after the quote is accepted. During the initial installation, the entire hardscape and plant community along with snails will be added. Depending on the installation, some fish may be added as well. Shrimp prefer a more mature habitat and will be added in 4-6 weeks along with the remainder of the fish. Each ecosystem will include a care kit containing all items you will need.
Stillwater Bi-monthly Maintenance
While our ecosystems are designed to require less care at less frequent intervals than saltwater and many tropical installations, bi-monthly maintenance is needed to keep the ecosystem healthy. Once installation is complete, a bimonthly maintenance schedule will begin. During maintenance, the following procedures will be carried out:
-
Testing and correcting of water parameters
-
Cleaning filter (if applicable)
-
Gravel vacuum
-
Water change
-
Clean container, pedestal, lighting, etc.
-
Fertilization and pruning of aquatic and emergent plants
-
Supplemental animal feeding
-
Health inspection of plants of animals
-
Replacement of any plants or animals that are not thriving. (see warrantee)
-
Replenishing of fish and shrimp food and dechlorinated water
-
Recommendations for changes in client care. Ie – feeding schedule, light schedule, etc.
Monthly invoices will be issued at the last visit of the month. Payment is due prior to the next visit.
